RASHTRAPATHI BHAVAN -1

I'm sure many of you know somethings about our Rashtrapathi Bhavan. But there are some more here to add to your knowledge.

1. India's Rashtrapathi Bhavan is the largest head of state residence in the world. Formerly known as Viceroy's House, was designed by well known British architect Sir Edwin Landseer Lutyens.
2. The name was changed to Rashtrapathi Bhavan when our first president Rajendra Prasad assumed office.
3. Its a massive building in Raisins Hill of New Delhi, having 340 rooms including President's office, guest rooms, halls and offices.
4. Started construction in 1912, and though initially it was planned to be completed in 4 years, it took 17 years to build, was completed in 1929. 700 million bricks and 3 million cubic feet of stones have been used in this building. 29000 people worked at the site.
4. The Rashtrapathi Bhavan has two gallaries for children. One is 'By the Children ' to showcase the work of children and another is 'For the Children ', to display variety of items that would interest children.
5. Rashtrapathi Bhavan has a total of 750 staff
